What makes me the right
Meditation Teacher for you?
I understand the challenges of navigating all the meditation options available. A one-size-fits-all approach to meditation isn’t the most effective for helping you flourish. I was personally drawn to a method that included many techniques that are based on ancient practices and current research but are not aligned with any particular spiritual or religious beliefs. I offer a method of meditation that is simple, effective and universal.
As a former nurse turned meditation and mindfulness teacher and coach, I understand how the body, mind, and soul are connected. Some meditation teachers focus primarily on the physical aspects and health benefits, which is so important. Others focus on the spiritual aspects and bypass the fact that we live stressful lives, impacting our health. I focus on all of it, and that’s why my clients experience such profound benefits.
I’ve experienced many flavours of stress, from the stress of modern-day life to soul hunger when I lost touch with myself. As a result, I can connect many dots and provide the right resources, support, and guidance during your session to ensure it fits your personality and unique life experiences and needs.
I can’t wait to teach you how to meditate!

A few kind words . . .
I wanted to learn to meditate because something needed to change in my life. I knew I needed some tools to help bring calm and balance to my days. I had heard about meditation and its benefits. I like the idea of having a private session. I appreciated the long session time as it gave Bev and me the opportunity to go over where I was at in life and what I hoped to accomplish. Bev is wonderful. She has such a calming presence and voice. I felt safe and secure and understood. I already have told many people about my session. I’m excited to share with them what I have learned and gained from meditating. I’m looking forward to the life-long benefits that it will bring to my life.

Today was a HUGE day for me. My life was taken over by anxiety/panic attacks 22 years ago. Today, I took it back. I made it in an elevator up to the 11th floor to see my friend and business partner, who was in a car accident 4 weeks ago today. She suffered severe brain damage and brain stem damage. All week I practiced going up and down the elevator as well as counting steps from the 11th floor to ground level when I was meditating. And I made it! Thank you so much for what you taught me in our session. I plan on continuing to meditate and never look back!

Frequently asked questions
Meditation is a name given to the many techniques that turn your attention inward.
There are many types of meditation, each training us to engage or focus our attention. You’ve probably heard of visualization, contemplation, walking, chanting, watching your breath, and silent mantra meditation, but there are many others.
Meditation techniques have been practiced for thousands of years. Initially, meditation was practiced to deepen one’s understanding of the sacred and mystical forces of life. Meditation may be spiritual for some, but the practice is not necessarily religious.
Meditation is becoming mainstream, probably due to the high stress our modern-day lives can create. Millions of people around the world practice it.
Meditation is not about forcing our minds to be quiet; it’s a process of rediscovering that ever-present quietness. Behind the mental chatter is silence, pure awareness, which is not disturbed by thoughts of the past or concerns about the future.
Meditation can be easy if you are taught correctly. It is not about stopping thought: that would be impossible. Meditation is going beyond or transcending thought to find the quiet that is already there.
Whichever type of meditation you choose, done correctly, allows your body to reach a naturally occurring rest state.
According to research, this rest is different from sleep. It is much deeper, and at the same time, you are more alert.
Many meditate to experience inner peace and find meaning and purpose. A growing number of perfectly healthy people also use meditation to reduce stress.
Ask yourself the following:
Do your thoughts never stop?
Are your thoughts based on old, habitual ways of thinking?
Do you have difficulty coping with the stress in your life?
Do you want to feel peaceful and calm?
Do you have health issues?
Do you want to feel better?
Do you ever feel so lost in your thoughts that you miss the present moment?
Do you struggle with cravings for drinking, eating, shopping or other things?
Do you want to be creative, less distracted and more focused?
Do you want to look and feel younger?
If you answered yes to any of these, it may be the right time to learn to meditate.
Almost every health professional recommends meditation because it is a proven way to rest your mind and body and reduce stress. It is a powerful tool that significantly impacts our bodies’ health and the quality of our lives. The most effective way to detoxify the body is to detoxify the mind.
Millions of people are meditating, and research has demonstrated its physical, social, emotional, psychological, and spiritual benefits. In this fast-paced world where stress is the new “normal,” people are” becoming” g increasingly inspired to learn to meditate.
Research has demonstrated the benefits of meditation in many areas:
- Decreased blood pressure and hypertension
- Lowered cholesterol levels
- Reduced levels of stress hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline
- Increased production of the anti-aging hormone DHEA
- Improved immune function
- Reduced anxiety, depression and insomnia
- Enhanced concentration, memory and the ability to learn
- Improved creativity and problem-solving skills
Perhaps the greatest gift of meditation is the sense of inner calm and peace it brings into your daily life.
Thousands of meditation techniques are appropriate for someone somewhere at some time. Each meditation tradition advocates many subtle differences in the rules, but these are just guidelines of what worked in a given situation. They are not carved in stone.
However, any meditation technique has two elements: how you pay attention and what you pay attention to. The how is usually gentle, restful, steady attention, and the what is something simple—like breath.
I was drawn to a method that included techniques based on ancient practices and current research but not aligned with any particular spiritual or religious beliefs. I wanted to practice a simple, effective, and universal meditation method.
I was certified by the McLean Meditation Institution in 2013 to teach the SEED Meditation Method. Over the years, I’ve practiced and learned many types of meditation, which I integrate into my coaching and teachings.
The Simple, Easy, Every Day Meditation ™ or SEED Method includes breath awareness meditation, body awareness technique, heart-centred breath, self-inquiry practice, silent sound (mantra) meditation, mindfulness practices, and peace-finder practices.
All meditations that silently use a mantra have a similar goal—to take your awareness beyond thought into pure silence, pure awareness. You’ll expand your understanding and explore your essential nature beyond your roles and responsibilities. At the same time, you’ll reduce stress in the nervous system so you can face your day with a fresh attitude and calmer manner.
This powerful yet simple meditation method can be learned in as little as three hours and is perfect for anyone—whether you are a beginner or want to get back on track with meditation.
Anyone can learn to meditate. If you have a thought, you can do it, and you don’t have to change a thing—not your diet, religion, or beliefs—nothing.
Although you can get excellent information about meditation from books and other online sources, having a qualified, experienced teacher act as a guide is helpful and essential.
Meditation is a natural process that isn’t complicated when you know what you’re doing and how to do it.
I started to meditate using a 21-day meditation app, which was a wonderful experience. I loved the message and the minimal time commitment. It was an introductory, but I had so many questions before long. That’s why I sought out classes and other sources of personal guidance.
I wasn’t comfortable attending some classes because the spiritual underpinnings threatened me. I want to learn to meditate without feeling uncomfortable with that component. I also want to know about meditation’s what, when, where, why, and how, and most of the classes just guided me.
I have found that most people I teach want to learn why they are meditating and how it relates to their own lives.
That’s why I offer private sessions: to customize and personalize each session to meet your needs. Everyone’s different, and meditation is not a one-size-fits-all practice.
In this session, you’ll learn that there are various ways to meditate. You’ll also discover the basics of successful meditation, what meditation is and isn’t, the experiences you might have, the five essentials of a successful practice, and the many benefits that will unfold for you when you learn to meditate.
The program’s mainstay is a meditation technique that involves focusing on your breath and a silent sound, or mantra, that helps you direct your attention inward and go beyond your thoughts to reconnect with that place of peace. The technique is powerful yet simple to do.
Your Learn to Meditate session also includes:
- An introduction to a meditation practice that is not tied to any religious or spiritual traditions
- Discovering mindfulness in everyday life
- Understanding the effects of stress: how it accumulates and how to release it
- Becoming intimate with the way your mind works: three ways meditation trains you to focus
- Ways in which meditation changes your brain and the findings in neuroplasticity
- Three ingredients for any meditation practice
- The five essentials for a successful meditation
- Easy-to-use meditation techniques
